My Top 5 Most Powerful Worship Lyrics

One of my greatest tools to growing closer and walking straighter in my relationship with Christ is song lyrics. Music and worship revamp my soul through the good and the bad times, like an old trusted friend. Also, worship brings a bit of the atmosphere that is present in heaven to have a slight appearance on earth. To vocally and publicly give praise to my Father causes my heart to thrive. People have many ways of worshipping, but I feel like all in all the lyrics make up the backbone of PRAISE.

Below, I am sharing my top 5 most powerful worship lyrics. These lyrics are what causes my soul to leap and heart to pound on a whole new level each time I hear them, whether read or shouted in praise!

1.”We are his portion and he is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in his eyes
If grace is an ocean we’re all sinking
So, heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets when I think about the way”
HOW HE LOVES   Written by John Mark McMillan
2. “Filled with wonder awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your name
Jesus Your name is power, breath and living water
Such a marvelous mystery”
REVELATION SONG  Written by Kari Jobe
3. “There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ”
IN CHRIST ALONE  Written by Keith Getty & Stuart Townsend
4. “Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
Oh praise the one who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead
JESUS PAID IT ALL Written by Kristian Stanfill
5. “For His returning we watch and we pray
We will be ready the dawn of that day
We’ll join in singing with all the redeemed
‘Cause Satan is vanquished and my Jesus is King”
SING TO THE KING Written by Billy Foote

Government Fights Against Tobacco BUT Not Pornography

There will soon be disturbing graphic images of former tobacco users who have suffered the consequences on all tobacco products. Now, I do realize how tobacco is killing people in this world. Although this is nobel act by the government I feel like there are other things in society that need to have this same kind of attack. I am in full support of this decision by the government but I feel like this act should not stop here but be a start to reaching other poisons of society. The government also puts forth a great effort to fight childhood obesity, which is another important fight in society that effects the future of our nation and world.

PORNOGRAPHY. A subject/term that seems to be absent from the eye of the United States Government. Pornography is shattering the intimacy of marriage and also ripping apart families. Every day there is a wound caused by immoral activity by spouses. There are proven facts showing the effects of how rape and child abuse can be a result to exposure to pornography.  Why shouldn’t there be declaimers on online pornography sites or purchased porn that reads something like this: WARNING: BY VIEWING THIS SOURUCE PAIN, HURT, AND DISTRUCTION WILL BE BROUGHT TO YOUR FAMILY AND YOU HEART. IN RESULT TERRIBLE ACTS OF SELFISHNESS AND SICKNESS COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN TO THE INNOCENT.

The rest of this issue can be laid out by the statistics that you need to check out HERE!

Who is “He”?

  • He is the ONE
  • He is the TRUTH
  • He is SOVEREIGN
  • He is PERFECT
  • He is all KNOWING
  • He knows NO SIN
  • He is POWERFUL
  • He is Love
  • He is GOD
How do we view the term “he”? Who was the first person in our lives to bring the definition of “he” to the surface? Sorry Moms, but you can not cover this subject. But Dad, you are a whole other story. You are the first example of what “he” means to children. When raising a family in church, the kids will hear a name of God called simply “He”. As fathers, how can this not excite you? To be the first example of Christ should create a purpose for your soul as a father! This calling is not always executed but is always longed for by our boys and girls in todays society. Yes, I also understand that some children do not have fathers but I encourage that through prayer and wisdom a Godly man would either his or her life. This may be scary or convicting but here is the good news. By God’s mercy and grace we are able to completely Father and be the “he” example for our children starting now! Come on men! Step up to the plate!

The Marriage Prayer

”The Marriage Prayer” is a song that is on John Waller’s Album “As For Me and My House”. I fell in love with not only the song but the lyrics. These lyrics are spot on of my prayer that I pray for my future spouse. As a single young adult, I and getting more and more eager for God to show this person. The responsible thing for me to do and all the best thing for me to do is truly mean this prayer and praying in diligently. I hope this will bless you either as a single person or married. Enjoy! Feel free to comment!

Man
Father, I said till
Death do us part
I want to mean it
With all of my heart
Help me to love you
More than I love her
Then I know I can
Love her more
Than anyone else
And bring her in
Your presence today
Make her what
You want her to be
I pray to hear her heart
I pray she’ll love you more
I pray to cherish and serve her
And we’ll bring you glory today, I pray

Women
Father, I said till
Death do us part
I want to mean it
With all of my heart
Help me to love you
More than I love him
Then I know I can
Love him more
Than anyone else
And bring him in
Your presence today
Make him what
You want him to be
Lord, help me love her
As you love the church, your bride
Help me submit to him
As I submit to you, my life
This is my prayer Amen

Day 2: Costa Rica

Day 2 of our time in Costa Rica really set the tone for what we can expect and learn from in the culture here. We went to church on site at the Abraham Project. Just like a services in the states we begin to worship. There are many ways to describe their styles of worship. They worship in freedom, humility, surrender, and praise. The congregation raised their hands in praise of victory towards our one true God that we all serve under. Personally, I fit in right in there with them. With arms raised and feet moving we worshiped together knowing that God has won and now we have eternity.

Following the service we were able to hang out and eat lunch at the orphanage with the children. Most of them were sort of uneasy with all of us but there were a few that warmed up to us pretty well. They mostly connected with different people on the team, which was awesome to see how God worked in that. Bracey, Clair, and Van were the three that the children really stuck to. Very excited for them to have been able to experience Christ movement in their hearts as well as the children’s hearts.

For everyone who has traveled by plane knows that there are things that happen all the time that we hate to deal with and that are completely out t of our control.  And of course this issue had to happen to me! I was handed a bag that looked very familiar to the one that I had, but it turns out that when we began to go through the bag (this was a bag filled with supplies for the project) we realized that we had gotten the wrong bag. So Jason, myself, and our taxi driver, Max, went back to the airport where we were they’re forever trying to find my bag. Thankfully we were able to find it and get it all worked out but it sure was frustrating!

On Monday, we will be having our first workday at The Project! Be praying that we have safe construction and that God will be there in every aspect for Glory to be given!

We Are One

This past December I had the privilege to go serve in Mazatenango, Guatemala. The experience was everything and more of a life changing experience. The bond that was made between our team itself and also the bond between our team and the girls of the Hogar Santa Maria de Jesus was a Spirit led formation. We all made incredible relationships and we will never forget them.

The past week or so I have been really missing my girls at the Girls home in Mazatenango. Honestly, I began to miss them from the time my little friend Kimberly blew me a kiss good-bye as our bus drove away for the last time of that week. In my heart I knew that they were going to be provided for because the Nuns at this girls home are amazing (not to mention Brenda how can flat-out KILL IT on the Basketball court).Just knowing that I have no clue if I will ever get to see those precious gifts of God again in my life. Although this sounds pitiful but it is true that I feel like it is a break up. Just having a piece of heart left there causes a deep connection that is hard to separate. My heart still ways heavy in my longing to see those girls again.

As I was dealing with this pain God rocked my world with a realization. Here I am sad about missing them when in all actuality we are all under one roof. We both believe in the same God and the same merciful God. We worship, we pray, we live for the same Creator. We are all brothers and sisters. When I sing praises in worship I think about how those girls are worshiping with me. Even though there is a geographical boundary there are no walls or barriers in the family of God. This brings my heart to a place of peace and comfort that I am close but yet so far from my little girls.

ONE TRUTH. ONE CREATOR. ONE GOD

Addiction

Addiction. Now the first thing that you probably think of when you see or hear the word addiction is possibly a drug addict or even porn addict. Although, these sorts of things may not apply to you, you actually are an addict.

An addict can consist anything that one becomes obsessed with that is not Jesus.

!. Food

2. Relationships

3. Money

4. Possessions

Think about what exactly is your addiction. Discover it and conquer it. Some may think that it might be a little harsh, but were we created to serve in safe conditions or safe mindset. It took a sinless, perfect man to die for us to be able to experience eternity.

Once you have nailed down the addiction make it a point in your prayer for God to give you strength over your flesh and to have victory over evil.

At the end of the day if you have won the day and conquered the addiction then give praise because with out God you would have not excelled that day.  Give the one who deserves all the credit the praise! We serve a mighty God! Chose Victory!
